General Requirements and Information

All information is regarding Resident and Adjuster Licensees. For Non-Resident Requirements, see the state website (link above).

Overall

Ethics
3 hour

Annuity
A producer who engages in the sale of annuity products must complete a one-time, 4-credit training course approved by the Department of Insurance and provided by the Department of Insurance-approved education provider. Producers may not engage in the sale of annuities until the annuity training requirement has been completed.

Long-Term Care
8 hour initial and 4 hour ongoing

Legislative Changes
1 approved credit hour of legislative changes in Montana insurance statutes and administrative rules as part of each biennial continuing education filing

Flood
One time 3 hour NFIP certification training prior to selling flood insurance

Course Repetition within Compliance Period
Not allowed

Course Credit Carryover
Not allowed

Reporting

The state requires reporting within 30 days of completion. There is a $1.00 per credit hour reporting fee.
