    Basic Bootcamp: This course will focus on the fundamentals of documentation, reporting, and withholding rules relating to cross-border payments. Withholding agents need to know the different documentation, reporting, and withholding regimes, how they relate to each other, and how the requirements change when the obligation is in the US versus outside the US. The daunting task can impact all aspects of a business, from transitional banking and investment banking businesses to other business functions like vendor payments, insurance premiums, and employee compensation. It is essential for withholding agents to take action now to avoid significant financial and reputational risks.

The session will use slides and an example approach. We will illustrate the purpose of the rules and make the rules easier to remember and comprehend.     CLE CREDIT

    The number of credits for both the Bootcamp and the Conference will be determined by the CLE board. We will be applying for approval with Minimum Continuing Education Legal Education Credit by the State Bar of New York. These activities conform to the standards for approved education activities prescribed by the rules and regulations of the State Bar of New York. It will be the responsibility of the attendee to verify with their home state regarding reciprocity credit and the forms needed to request CLE credit. To verify acceptance and hours in your state, or other states, please contact the respective local State Bar Association.
